Released in 2006, this is the band's twelfth studio album. It was originally titled Impaling the Goblin, but after many complaints that in some cultures this term had a sexual connotation to it, they changed the name to Erasing the Goblin. The album, with a cover which features a warrior throwing a sword into a goblin sitting on a rocking chair in a cave, is said to be a take on their older death/thrash sound around the time of their first 2-3 albums.
First edition of the album, limited to 500 hand-numbered copies, is hand numbered, signed by each band member and contains the exclusive track "Dead Man Walking". This track was previously recorded on the band's "10 Years Live Not Dead" live CD. This is the first studio recording of this.
The album was reissued in 2013 by Soundmass Records which included "Dead Man Walking" and 9 live bonus tracks.
Those who pre-ordered the reissue got an instant download of the album, with 7 more bonus tracks:
21. I'm Not Your Commodity (Live 2007)
22. Priests of the Underground (Live 2007)
23. Grind Planetarium (Live 2007)
24. Spoken Word (Live 2007)
25. Humanitarian (Live 2007)
26. Medley (Live 2007)
27. Scrolls of the Megilloth (Live 2007)
